Build Your Life Resume With Jesse Itzler

Jesse Itzler is a New York Times bestselling author who teaches people to achieve their personal goals by creating what he calls a life resume. This isn’t the traditional resume you might think of when applying for a job, instead it’s a list of all the amazing and unique experiences you have created in your lifetime. Jesse’s life resume includes running multiple 100 mile races, living on a monastery, co-founding a private jet card company and managing the RUN DMC music label. He also has many business accomplishments including being the co-founder of Marquis Jet and selling that company to NetJets.

Using the Life Resume is a great way to get a clear roadmap for where you want to go in your life, career, or business. The most common use case involves working back from your desired outcome (what’s called an objective in resume parlance) and listing all the experiences you will need to have to be successful at reaching that goal. Then you can document your existing skills and accomplishments to prove that you are capable of accomplishing the goal (similar to what a real resume would do).

Other uses cases for the Life Resume include documenting your journey toward a specific milestone or achievement, determining what makes you happy, and overcoming challenges in your life.
